Find the good stuff first. Then create the struggles.

As actors it can be tempting to focus only on a character's challenges, struggles and emotions - the dark side. We think the best way to experience depth, is to connect with the pain. For example if your character is going through a break up - the actor will think about the bad things that happened, but in truth, what you need to connect with, are all the good things and why you got together in the first place.

But when we start with the pain we're often missing something even more important!

In this short video lesson Margie offers some valuable food for thought on this question :).

She explains why we must focus on finding the good stuff first! Before we create the struggles.

How often as an actor (and in life) do you focus on creating the struggles first?

It's well worth watching.

To your success,
